This lovely Celtic Peacock notebook is inspired by Ireland’s famous illuminated manuscripts, such as the Book of Kells. Originally created by monks starting in the 13th century, these manuscripts featured the Christian Gospels richly and intricately hand written and decorated with a mix of Christian symbols and traditional Irish art. A significant subject in ancient Celtic art, the peacock was believed to possess both immortality and the gift of foresight- with the ‘eyes’ on its tail feathers being the source of the latter. With the Peacock and Ireland embossed on both sides and finished with Celtic Knots and gold foil accents, this palm sized notebook is the perfect size to take with you anywhere.
