These Irish Celtic Bookmarks were inspired by Ireland’s treasury of illuminated manuscripts transcribed by Celtic monks. The monks loved books and learning and their monasteries produced many beautiful manuscripts including the famous Book of Kells. The decoration in these books feature ornate motifs and intricate knotwork with interlacing patterns. Celtic designs have always been admired for their extravagence and their elegant complexity.
