William Morris was an influential designer & poet from Victorian England. His patterns are known for their nature-inspired motifs, intricate details, and flowing forms. By weaving Morris’ patterns, we at Ekelund embrace a part of the English tradition and blend it with our Swedish heritage, creating a bridge between the past and the future, and between the English and Swedish landscapes.

Sunflower

Sunflower was designed in 1879. A beautiful symmetrical pattern featuring central sunflowers along with abundant grapevines and lovely curly leaves. Sunflowers were one of Morris’ favorite plants and could be found in several of his gardens. Sunflowers also appeared in Morris’ designs, prose, and lectures.
